HAD A BLAST FROM THE PAST

So this weekend was the "BIG" game for California High School at the Oakland Coliseum. For those of you who don't know they were playing the undeafeated De La Salle for the Championship. I think we were all optimistic but in the end Cal got killed. But as I keep saying. "at least they made it this far." What a great accomplishment for Cal!

My family was sitting in front of Bill Chestnut and about half way through the first quarter he leans to the man he was sitting next to and says, " Well, maybe the half show will be really good." I laughed!

The game wasn't a total loss because I got to see some of my Best Friends growing up. There was a whole row of the people I hadn't seen in years! It was so great to see Benhameen McEvoy, Bryan Pack, Brian Kechter, Jason Swann and Jeremy Swann. There were also a lot of teachers that were there that I hadn't seen since graduating.

It was so fun to catch up and see where everyone is and what they are doing. I also filled them in on people that I keep in contact with i.e. Rebecca Davies Larson-etc. It was such a great time !!! Everyone is doing really well!

Okay, so I am putting this out there per Bryan Pack's idea-- We need to have a San Ramon reunion! If you are interested let me know. I would be happy to organize it--maybe this summer? What do you think? Just a weekend of family, friends, food and memories- If you by the off chance read this please respond-I'd love to get your feedback!

Bla Bla Blog

I can't believe I am doing this. Writing in a blog. Do I really think I am that important that I need to write down my thoughts and that people will really want to read it? And what the heck are you doing??? Stop reading this. You MUST have something better to do then read this right now. Go play with your kids. Read a book. Go outside and frolic.

Ok, well since I'm here BLOGGING (blog, what a dumb word, blog blog blog blog) here's a thought from my little brain.

Free Iggy!!! Many of you may not be aware, but I am on a food binge until Iggy is returned back to his first adoptive family. I vow to eat a lot of food until Iggy is reunited with his original owners. And if you happen to know who Iggy is, do yourself a favor. Lift you hand in front of your face, make a fist, then proceed to smack yourself in the mug until you go unconscious. Ellen, get a grip. You're crying over an animal that licks it's crotch and thinks cat poop is a rare delicacy.

There, my first and quite possibly my last blog. Although if another stupid thought comes to my mind, I may just hop back on this blog thing and give it another whirl.

So much has happened where do I begin?

Well, I thought that I would write and now that I have waited so long it becomes a bit overwhelming! I posted a few pictures from the latest events at the Habecker Home. The pirate pictures were the fun that we had at Zachary's Birthday Party! That was a great time! We had all of his little friends over and we all dressed up like a pirate or princess-or should I say a wench? I found my voice to be a little hoarse at the end as I never broke "pirate character" the whole time the kids were here!

The other Picture I posted was of Reese's handy work on her hair. Got to love IT!!!! She's got a future...In what I don't know but she's got one!

So I got an ultrasound well I should say I have had a couple ultrasounds. I went in at what we thought was my 10 week mark and my Dr. took all of about 2 seconds and said your going to need come back-Your only about 7 weeks along. What a BUMMER! You mean I am going feel crappy that much longer! So I went and got another one last week and now I am 12 weeks! SAY GOODBYE TO THE FIRST TRIMESTER!!!!

She's Having a Baby

Okay, so this is for the two of you who read my blog I know it isn't that exciting yet but I am still trying to get this whole thing down. I am doing my best. Don't give up on me yet. Well, if you haven't guessed by the title-yep were having another baby! That will be #3 just in case you lost count. The kids are so excited. In fact, I was a little under the weather a couple weeks ago and Zachary was really concerned about the baby. He asked Mike, " Is the baby going to be deaf?" He asked because he knew that Julie was sick when she was first pregnant with Bella and that is why she is deaf. I thought, WOW! You just never know what those little guys are thinking. I will keep you all posted as names come into play. Maybe if you are lucky and you are one of the two people who read this I will name the baby after you.

Hair by Habecker

So I would have blogged a long time ago but I couldn't figure how to get back on this site. I know, I know I am lame but what can I say. So much has gone on since the last blog. Reese decided she wants to be a hairdresser. In fact at the beginning of the year we sat down as a family and made family goals. Reese's one goal for the year simply was "Learn Hairs". And by George she's got it. In the last two weeks Reese has become very serious about her Hair Stylings. First she took a brand new can of hairspray and used the whole can on her hair--I decided that I would go and get her pictures professionally taken. It made me laugh so hard when she came out and had her hair plastered to her head. I thought to myself well at least she didn't cut it. So we got her pictures taken and they were so funny. But not even a week later Reesey did cut her bangs and all I could do was scream. It was 3 days before her 3rd birthday. I was wanting to get her pictures done for her birthday but I am having such a hard time getting two sets of pictures with her hair all jacked up. I guess if I really had to capture what Reesey is all about right now it is hair-and what a great memory!

Escaping The Heat

September 3, 2007

It started out to be a very realxing day-sleeping in and deciding whether we wanted to go to the beach or the water park. Majority won and we went to the Antioch water park. The kids love it there! When the kids are happy Mama is happy. And so it was. We left here at about 10:30am got gas and headed to the waterpark. Zachary was so excited to go because in the last week he has learned to swim without his floatees. Now that is big, considering at the beginning of the summer he wouldn't even sit on the top step of the pool. We had a great day enjoying the 95 degree weather(sorry Rebecca). We did the waterslides and a Lilly Pad Obstacle course in the pool-(in fact for you locals Britt and Mike will be in the Contra Costa Times tomorrow for their skills on that). We ate lunch and deciding that it was almost 2:00pm(nap time for Reese) we needed to head home.We got home after about a 40 minute drive home-finding all was well or so we thought. We walked in he back door and all you could smell was burning something. I hear Mike yelling at me,"Erika, what did you do?" Nothing is what came to my mind. In fact, this will tell you what kind mother I am-I did not even step foot into my kitchen this morning. Mike made breakfast for the kids. I then thought,"What did I do? What did you do? The house was completely smoked filled. A rag had been left on the stove and was now a pile of gray ashes. I can only figure that Reese had been on the counter(that is her favorite perching spot) and kicked the back burner on high. It was on high the entire time we were gone. It caught the rag on fire and we are lucky that was the only thing that burned. I am sitting here writing with the smell of burn in my clothes and burning my eyes. I have now taken all of the knobs off of my stove so I don't have the fear of it happening again.I know that the Lord protected this house and I am grateful for that blessing because it truly was a miracle with all that is sitting around on my counter tops that nothing else burned, We truly "Escaped the Heat".
